Upgrades
New data
system enclosure for reduction in "cold soak" of
processor boards.
Imporved
TWT cathode voltage regulation for greater transmit stability
with line voltage. This change boosted
transmit power by about 1 dB.
Fixed
data disk drive replaced with removable units for quicker
access to data after flight
Data
system software modifications:
a) 25 km range window now can start
at arbitrary distance below plane. This
results in greater coverage of mirror image return.
b) self-describing header file added
to raw data files so that pertinent radar parameters
are contained within the file.
Nadir
antenna positioner is replaced with fixed turnbuckle since
the antenna is kept in fixed position
through experiment.

digital reciever electronics within data processor replaces conventional reciever hardware.
Addition
of a surface channel for the nadir beam is gain optimized
and oversampled for ocean surface
sigma zero observation.
Improved
radar interface for radar status information and radar control.
Installation
of GPS reciever for sub-meter position accuracy at 5HZ collection
rate. A second, ground-based, GPS receiver for differential
GPS measurements will provide increased
position accuracies.
